Papillon
Papillon is a
15" vintage porcelain doll who has made a metamorphosis in more ways than
one. She has been re-imagined as a playful young girl. As spring changes to
summer, she delights in chasing her hoop among the green leaves, flowers, and
butterflies.
She has been
re-styled with a new permanent wig; an vintage dress with hand embellishments,
handmade underclothes, handmade wreath, and hand-painted wood hoop & stick.
Her hair is new
Mongolian lamb. Her wreath is made from new and vintage milliner's flowers:
velvet roses, flocked pearblossoms, and fun fiber trim. Her vintage satin &
tulle dress was given sleeves and it's trimmed with antique bobbin lace (a
handcrafted lace method from Belgium), fiber ribbon, a sheer ribbon sash, and
butterfly appliques handmade by me.
Beneath the
dress, she's wearing a handmade natural linen half slip and linen pantaloons.
The pantaloons are trimmed with antique bobbin lace. Her vintage gold tone
shoes have gold-tone filigree butterflies. Hand-painted wood hoop and stick complete
her ensemble.
