"Manon" Pointelle Knit Dress Ensemble for Sasha Doll

"Manon" brings the splendor of spring to Sasha. Silk-satin ribbon intertwines with cotton pointelle, edged at the shoulders in champagne velvet. A discreet shoulder button makes getting dressed a cinch. Underneath, a batiste chemise and pantaloons support the a-line silhouette. Cluny lace accents make underthings pretty enough to wear on their own. Skimmers and doll hair pin ornamented with silk ribbon and iridescent Venetian glass beads complete the look.

This one-of-a-kind altered couture dress and accessories ensemble has been made from materials from a range of ages and required a variety of techniques including hand and machine sewing. Everything here has been made by hand in my studio even the shoes!:

Timeless Sasha stays up to date in black angora edged in intricate crochet and fun-fringe, finished with a braided and knotted tie of bright fibers..

Textured charcoal cowl dress peeps out. Handsewn boots of new wool felt.

Coordinating hair pom-poms attach with doll-sized hair pins.

This is a one-of-a-kind altered couture coat and dress. They have been sewn entirely by hand from vintage sweaters.

The handsewn boots are made of new wool felt. Garments are tagged and signed by the artist.

Bonus: manufactured opaque tights.

Hand-dyed paper found images applied to paper board. Base is hand-dyed paper over bookboard. Lamppost is original photofeature from vintage Parisian calendar. Semi-precious and costume jewelry and glitter medium embellishments.
